What
size is Danesbrook House?
Danesbrook House has 14 beds situated on the ground and
first floors and serviced by a passenger lift.
Is it
single accommodation?
YES . . . all 14 rooms are single.
Can I
bring my own furniture?
YES . . . we encourage you to bring small items but
subject to fire safety and other regulations not being
compromised.
Are
meals provided?
YES . . . breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks and
tea through the day and at various set times.
Where do I eat?
We have a dining room with views over the garden
or
alternatively you can eat in your room.
What
about pets?
Whilst we love animals, we have to be mindful of our
other residents and so have a policy of not allowing
dogs or cats. You can have a fish tank or small
bird in a bird cage in your room.
Does
doctor visit?
You will have to register with a doctor when you move
into Danesbrook House, and he or she will visit as
required.
Do I
pay council tax?
No, residents are exempt.
Can you
order newspapers for me?
YES . . . we have one paper every day which you can read
but if you require your own you can this order from the
local newsagent who delivers.
Have
you a no-smoking policy?
Danesbrook House has a strictly no-smoking policy.
Anyone wanting to smoke, resident, staff or visitor is
asked to do so outside and in a place where the smoke
will not enter the home.
Can I
have friends round?
YES . . . With our every encouragement.
What
about my mail?
Mail is delivered by the Post Office around 8.00am each
morning, Sunday and public holidays apart.
Telephone, can I have my own?
There is a phone for general use and residents can have
their own line installed if they so wish.
Do I need insurance?
Danesbrook House is of course insured comprehensively,
but this does not cover individual expensive items, and
you would be advised to ensure that these are separately
insured.
I like
to have my hair done regularly?
We would encourage you to continue this practice and to
this end a hairdresser visits regularly.
Email/Fax
If you should need to receive or send emails to your
family, and do not have your own PC at Danesbrook House,
you can do by asking our staff.
Also we can set up an e-mail account in your name @Danesbrook.com
if you so wish.
Do you
accept residents whose fees are paid by the Local
Authority?
Yes, but the difference between what the Local Authority
pays and Danesbrook House's fees must be made up by a
third party - family, for example.
What
else do I need to know?
Just that we would love to have you stay with us, in
order that we can take care of you
